ABOUT HAPPY HEARTS MONTESSORI

Happy Hearts Montessori School (HHMS) is a Montessori program with a nurturing environment. The school offers programs for children ages 18 months to 6 years old.

In 2021, our school started as a home-based early learning program facility in Kent with 12 students.  Two years later, HHMS managed to acquire another location in Maple Valley with the potential of 2 more classrooms and 40 more students.

The expansion of Happy Hearts Montessori to a new location is a testament to the dedication and hard work of its staff and the satisfaction of its families. With the additional space, HHMS is excited to welcome more students and continue to provide high-quality Montessori education to children in the Kent and Maple Valley areas.

OUR PHILOSOPHY

Our mixed- age Montessori program offers children a high quality of academic experience, administered with an enthusiastic, loving approach. We believe that an appropriate environment allows freedom to work, explore and discover the wonders of our world. Dr. Maria Montessori’s primary focus was the fundamental nature of the child. She believed that the child passes through Planes of Development in six-year cycles. Montessori Education provides children with a lifetime gift – the opportunity to develop their innate intellectual, physical, social and emotional potential. Happy Hearts Montessori and Early Learning Program encourages parents to be an integral part of their child’s education by learning about the Montessori philosophy, observing in the classrooms, and volunteering in the school.

OUR VISION

To implement an effective authentic Montessori program that embraces the diversity of our students, parents and teachers.

“Education must not be the exploitation of a poor mind, which has to memorize boring things. It is not the imitation of study which is important. We discuss how long should be spent on each study, one hour, two hours or twenty minutes. This is not a reform. The reform of education is to give life and to give knowledge in a form which is necessary to life. When this is done, the students can learn much more than they do today without fatigue. We must enlarge the syllabus. We enlarge the mind if we give abundant nourishment”. — Dr. Maria Montessori
